(Charlestown, Nevis) – TDC Group of Companies awarded two Warren C. Tyson Memorial Scholarships this week.
One scholarship went to Agiel Browne and the other went to Husani “De Inspirer” Parris. The award ceremony was chaired by TDC Human Resource Manager Dennis Knight and TDC Nevis Executive Director Ernie France.
Warren C. Tyson was the first chairman of the TDC Group of Companies and every year the company awards deserving youths scholarships in his name.
TDC has many education assistance programs in place for its employees including tuition reimbursement for passing grades, work study programs and tuition grants for employees seeking degrees.
“We at TDC believe that education is a means of liberating people and allowing them to really make a difference in their lives,” said Mr. France. “When we provide educational assistance to our employees, we hope that they come back to work for us, but it is not a condition of the financial assistance. They are not required to come back to TDC to work after they have finished with their schooling.”
Ms Juletta Parris hands Ms. Agiel Browne her warren C. Tyson Scholarship during an awards ceremony last Wednesday. TDC awards a number of scholarships every year to deserving youths throughout the Federation.
