FIRE UP THE MUSIC! TEMPO NETWORK’S THIRD ANNIVERSARY

(Charlestown, Nevis) – The network Tempo will be celebrating the Federation’s Silver Anniversary and their own third anniversary with a concert at Long Point titled, “Tempo Turns Three.”

A huge lineup of Soca and Reggae artists is slated for the show to be held September 19. Nevis is where the network premiered three years ago.

Tempo also recently became independent of its parent network, MTV.

"This is a very special celebration for Tempo, as the channel gained its own independence this past year and so, to celebrate our third anniversary by returning to Nevis, where Tempo was launched … is simply divine. We, of course, thank the good Lord for giving us the gift of three years and we commit ourselves to His honor and glory through His channel Tempo, and for all the blessings He continues to bestow on our beloved Caribbean: Tempo Forever!" said Tempo CEO, Mr. “Tempo,” Frederick A. Morton, Jr.

Tempo Turns 3 headlines with artists under the theme " Tempo Forever.” These artists represent the extraordinary past, exciting present and shining future of Caribbean music. Artists include: Machel Montano HD, Destra, Patrice Roberts, Farmer Nappy, The Mighty Sparrow, David Rudder, Claudette Peters, Wayne Marshall, Daville, Etana, Denise Belfon, Ziggy Ranking and much more, including powerhouse local talent.

Tempo continues to push the Badness Outta Style message, a Caribbean-wide curriculum taught throughout the schools and backed up by Tempo programming aimed at reducing violence in the region.

Mr. Morton wants to make special mention of another very important artist to headline at the Tempo Turns 3 concert - Mr. King - who continues to remind us that “Badness Outta Style!”

The Tempo family will be leading the charge, including Cross Caribbean Countdown's Jahbami, Rise and Shine's Jamie Thomas, Tempo News' Lydia Patel and Live & Direct's Nikki D, all alongside Host & Comedienne, Rachel Price and Mr. Tempo himself Frederick Morton Jr.

General Admission are sale for EC$75.00 and VIP Tickets are EC$125. Both will be more at the door. Tempo Turns 3: Tempo Forever tickets can be purchased at the following ticket outlets: In Nevis, Nevis Cultural Development Foundation, Chapter One Bookstore, Hanleys' Road Superette, Star Insurance Agency, Rumours at Newscastle, Caribbean Styles and The Fashion House. Outlets in St. Kitts are, Club Kactus and Super Drugs Pharmacy.

It all takes place on Friday, Sept. 19 at FM Entertainment Grounds, Longpoint, Nevis. Doors open at 5:30pm and show time is 7:00pm, sharp.

Tempo is also pleased to recognize the Government of Nevis - Nevis Cultural Development Foundation as the presenting sponsor, as well as the sponsorship contributions of Liat, Tropical Shipping, Carib Beer, Cable & Wireless, Nelson's Spring Condo, Lefco and Four Seasons Hotel & Resorts, Nevis.

Tempo will be hosting several other activities during the week leading up to the main concert, including the "Badness Outta Style" School Tour, in which Tempo personalities will visit several local schools and a gospel concert featuring local and regional gospel talent. Details of Tempo’s weeklong schedule of activities will be announced later on the Observer website.

Also, keep an eye out on Tempo programming for additional Anniversary Celebrations "Big Shot" Style in Curacao and in the Bahamas with the Bahamas Telecommunications Corporation.
