| NEVIS INNKEEPER DIES
Observer Staff Reports
(Cox, Nevis) Co-owner of Montpelier Plantation
Inn Lincoln Hoffman died earlier this week and is
sorely missed by friends and family. The Hoffman family
has owned the world-renowned inn for the past six
years and plans to open for the season on Oct. 5 as
scheduled.
The family released the following statement:
His impact at the hotel and on the island will
be felt for years to come. The first time that Lincoln
arrived on the island he said it just felt right,
and instantly fell in love with the island and the
people. He was aware that his life did not revolve
around the hotel, so he pursued other things that
through the years had become important such as the
preservation of the island.
He played an important role in the Historical
Society and hopes that his efforts will continue.
We will continue to run and operate Montpelier in
the manner that he would be proud of and to see his
dream continue for many generations.
Lincoln is survived by his wife Muffin, A daughter
Tonya, a son Timothy, daughter-in-law Merideth and
three grand children Kyler, Maya and Jasmine.
Funeral services will be held at the Gingerland Methodist
Church, Monday, Sept. 15, at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial
donations to the Nevis Historical Society.
