ARREST

Steve Warde of Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point, was on Monday 22nd September 2008 arrested and charged for the offence of grievous bodily harm. The offence was committed on 16th September 2008.

Shervin Allen of Salt Pond Alley was on Tuesday 23rd September 2008 arrested and charged for the offence of obstruction. The offence was committed on 23rd September 2008.

Neville Fahie of Newton Ground Village was arrested and charged on Tuesday 23rd September 2008 with the offence of malicious damage, an offence that occurred on 20th September 2008.

Hubert Carty of Wades Garden was arrested and charged on Wednesday 24th September 2008 with the offences of carrying abroad an offensive weapon and found in an enclosed premises, offences that were committed on 22nd September 2008.

Jason Thomas of Half Way Tree was arrested and charged on Wednesday 24th 2008 with the offence of obstruction.

Donald ‘Bore’ Rawlins of Upper Malone Avenue was on Wednesday 24th September 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of burglary, an offence that was committed on 14th September 2008.

A 14 year old juvenile from The Alley, Sandy Point, was arrested and charged on Wednesday 24th September 2008 for the offences of causing grievous bodily harm, battery on police, escaping lawful and malicious damage.

DRUGS UPROOTED

Police conducted search operations in the Hermitage area in Cayon and 15 marijuana plants were found growing on a plot of land. The plants, which ranged in height from five inches to two feet, were uprooted and taken into custody. No one was arrested for the find.

COURT CONVICTIONS

Kevin Jeffers of Lime Kiln Project appeared before the District ‘A’ Magistrate Court on Monday 22nd September 2008 to answer the charge of making use insulting language. He was convicted and ordered to pay $800.00 in one week or serve one month in prison. The offence occurred on 4th August 2008.

Janelle Johnson of East Street, Newtown, also appeared before the said court to answer the charge of malicious damage, an offence that was committed on 23rd December 2007. Johnson was convicted and placed on a bond in the sum of $1,000.00 and was ordered to keep the peace and to be of good behavior and is to stay at least 100 feet away from Shermel Cumberbatch whose property was damaged, and is to have no contact with her for a period of two years. If Janelle fails to comply with the court order she will have to pay the $1,000.00 fine or serve one month in prison.

Javier Gomez of Ocean View appeared before the court and was convicted on three counts of malicious damage and ordered to pay compensation in the sum of $648.00 and $1,782.00 by 29th September 2008 or serve 14 days in prison on each count. The offences occurred on 15th September 2008.

Jermaine Adonis Dasent of Greenlands who was charged with the offence of threatening language, an offence that was committed on 26th July 2008, was convicted by the court and placed on a bond for a two year period during which time he is to be of good behavior and is also ordered to stay away from Mildred Queeley whom he threatened. If Dasent fails to comply with the court’s order he will have to pay $1,000.00 or serve one month in prison.

Enva Pemberton of Cayon also appeared before the court and was convicted and cautioned for the offence of malicious damage. In addition, Pemberton was also convicted and fined $1,000.00 to be paid in one month or serve one month in prison for the offence of battery. The offences occurred on 21st September 2008.

Lavern Duporte of Green Tree Housing Project, St. Kitts, appeared before the District ‘C’ Magistrate Court on Tuesday 23rd September 2008 and was convicted for the offence of possession of cannabis and ordered to pay $5,000.00 in three months or serve six months in prison.

Asim Parris of Stoney Grove also appeared before the said court and was sentenced to 24 months in prison after been convicted for possession of cannabis. Parris also received two six months sentences for resisting arrest and obstruction. The sentences are to run consecutively.
