| BROWN HILL COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGICEL
DONATE $6K TO PSC
Brownhill Communications and Digicel both donated
$6,000 to the Primary School Championship to be held
on Wednesday April 1 at Grove Park. Schools from all
parts of the island will be competing to see who is
the fleetest of foot in the day long track meet. If
history is any indicator, the event rivals even Culturama
in numbers attending, with about half the islands
population showing up to cheer on the youth.

A story in last weeks Observer about the upcoming
Gulf Insurance Primary School Championship said: Tragedy
struck at the event in the past when violence erupted
and a teen age boy was killed. This incident happened
at a different event and we at the Observer apologize
for any concern that was caused. Nevis Amateur Athletic
Association President Lester Blackett said there has
never been any violence at the Championship due to
a high degree of police presence. It was also reported
that Gulf Insurance sponsored the event by $50,000
when in fact it was $15,000.
