By John Denny
Observer Reporter
(Charlestown, Nevis) Kethron Springette stood
trial this week, for wounding which occurred during
the July 11, 2008 robbery attempt against Hasketh
Wade, also known as Black Hat.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on the night in question,
two masked armed men entered Black Hats Place,
a Bath Village restaurant, which is owned by Hesketh
Wade, and demanded money from him.
Wade refused to comply with the bandits demand
and was shot multiple times before the men fled the
scene empty handed.
He was taken to the Alexandra Hospital, where he
underwent emergency surgery for gun shot wounds.
On Thursday Springette was found guilty by unanimous
verdict and sentenced to fifteen (15) years hard labour
for wounding Mr. Wade with intent to do him grevious
bodily harm.
