The HTA saluted Mr. Johnson for his love for Nevis and the energy and enthusiasm he demonstrated in 2009 when he launched the Nevis Pirate Festival.

"He will be greatly missed and our condolences go out to his family at this time."
General Manager of Nisbet Plantation Jeremy Holmes described Mr. Johnson as a dear friend of Walk Nevis who was well respected by all.

Mr. Holmes posted the following comments on the Nisbet Plantation Beach Club's website:

In addition to leading rainforest walks, Mount Nevis hikes and nature excursions, Jim also conducted numerous scientific research activities on the island.

For many of you who had the opportunity to meet Jim, you know the joy he was to have around and what a unique personality he had. He shared his love for the island with every guest…."
