Homicide at Fiennes Avenue; Two Shootings

 

 

June 1 -- On Monday, May 31 at approximately 10:38 p.m. police responded to a report of shooting at Central Finnes Avenue. Investigations revealed that Sylvester Lee, 30, of Upper Finnes Avenue was at Central Finnes Avenue when he was shot multiple times and succumbed to his injuries on the scene. The coroner was informed and gave permission for Lee’s body to be removed. The scene was processed by officers of the crime scene department. A number of spent shells and items of evidential value were collected and taken into police custody for analysis, and the deceased was transported to a funeral home under police escort. An autopsy will be performed at a later date to determine the cause of death. There are no suspects in custody at this time, however investigations are ongoing.

In the same incident wherein Lee was shot and killed, Devon Jeffers of Trafalgar Village was also shot in both legs and was transported to the JNF Hospital in private vehicle where he underwent emergency surgery and has been warded in stable condition. There are no suspects in custody at this time, however investigations are ongoing.

Also on Monday, at approximately 10:55 p.m. police responded to a report of gunshots heard at the West Basseterre By-Pass Road. Investigations revealed that Jahmari Lake, 28, of Shadwell was at the western end of the West Basseterre By-Pass Road when an unknown gun man exited a car and shot him in his leg. Lake was taken to the JNF Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and is reported to be in stable condition. There are no suspects in custody at this time, however investigations are ongoing.
