The Observer seeks a tireless reporter to deliver top-notch coverage of St. Kitts. The reporter will be expected to cover everything from features to hard news. Stories will be published daily on the newspaper Web site, or in the weekly print edition.

Ideal candidates will be proactive writers/reporters who are part of the Kittitian community, and have developed a network of news contacts. Must be hardworking, motivated and possess wide-ranging interests and abilities.

The salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Advertising Sales Person

A vacancy exists for the right person who is willing to work hard, pound the pavement and close the deals.

This position entails selling advertising space, and the company's printing products.

This person should decide how much they want to earn per month on a commission basis.

This person must be reliable, convincing and a hard worker.

This person, who must be able to work unsupervised, is honest and result-oriented.

Editor/Writer/Graphic Arts Designer

The leading newspaper and its parent printing company on the Caribbean island-nation of St. Kitts and Nevis is in search of a multi-talented Editor/Journalist/Graphic Artist.

The successful applicant must: Be good with modern newspaper designs; Must be an excellent editor, writer, and able to write great headlines; Must be an expert page designer, and outstanding graphic artist to handle the printing company's graphic design needs.

Must be a breaking news hound, a quick writer and a swift graphic designer. The paper is a weekly, so there will be time for all of the above.

EXCEPTIONAL WRITING, EDITING AND GRAPHIC ARTS SKILLS A MUST.

The successful applicant will be a strong editor who combines strong reporting and graphic design skills with the tools necessary to work in a new media environment. Must also have exceptional management skills.

Must have at least 7 years writing experience and a masters degree in Journalism, English, or Fine Arts.

Compensation includes salary, housing allowance, and the use of a company car.
