Over 500 Rural Lots to be Allocated

July 28 – The Denzil L. Douglas Labour Cabinet has approved over 500 new lots for distribution under the Special Land Distribution Initiative (SLDI).

“Cabinet approved 550 new lots for distribution to citizens who have requested land for residential purposes. These lots are located in the Parsons, Dieppe Bay and St. Paul’s areas and range from 4000 to 9000 square feet in size,” said Minister of Information, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty.

He advised that applicants in the areas listed whose requests under the SLDI had been placed on file as a result of the unavailability of residential land surveyed for distribution will shortly receive letters of allocation.

Senator Carty disclosed that similar approvals will be granted for the release of land in Saddlers, Tabernacle, Mansion, Molineux, Lodge and other areas to satisfy the demand for residential
land on the SLDI.

“Government is extremely proud of its track record in land distribution and reaffirms its commitment to empowering locals through its land distribution and housing programmes,” said Mr. Carty.
