Kennedy Isles-Powell

July 29 -- Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a young man they say should be considered “armed and dangerous”.

Eighteen-year-old Kennedy “Ken” Isles-Powell of Taylors Housing Project is wanted for possession of a firearm and ammunition and escaping lawful custody.

According to Police PRO Inspector Zenhastel Hector, police acted on information received and found the young man with a weapon on his person.

“On Saturday at about 10:30 p.m. at the Newtown Playing Field, police recovered one .38 Taurus revolver and 4 matching rounds of ammunition from Kennedy Powell. However Powell managed to escape police custody and a warrant is in existence for his arrest,” Hector said.

The PRO did not say how the teen managed to escape custody but informed that it occurred at the Playing Field when officers tried to apprehend him.

Powell is said to be 5 foot 9 inches tall with black hair and has a dark complexion. Hector indicated that the individual is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

“Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Kennedy Powell should contact the Police at 465-2241.”
