Two Cruise Ships Cancel Stops at St. Kitts

November 16 -- The widely publicized robbery of a busload of tourists in St. Kitts has caused two cruise ships to cancel stops at Port Zante.

Carnival Miracle and the Grand Princess will sail instead into Antigua.

The decisions came after Sunday’s daytime holdup of 17 visitors to St. Kitts by two masked men with guns as their tour bus traveled to Brimstone Hill.

According to published reports, the cancellations were confirmed by Denzil Crook, Managing Director of Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd. – the agent for Carnival, Princess and Celebrity cruise lines.

Tourism officials in the twin-island Federation are hoping that the fallout from the robbery will end with no further cancellations.
