Feb. 10 -- Emerging sprint stars Antoine Adams and Tameka Williams have made St. Kitts-Nevis proud once again with stellar performances at the BIGBANK Gold League in Tartu, Estonia, yesterday (Feb. 9).

Adams added another gold medal to his collection, after he clocked 6.66s in the Men’s 60m. This is the third gold medal that he has won since the start of the indoor athletic season this year. His first was in Tampere, Finland this past Sunday (Feb. 5) with a time of 6.71 seconds and finishing on Tuesday (Feb. 7) in Vaasa, Finland in 6.68 seconds.

The sprint star also ran a world leading time at the 2012 Botnia Games on that same day when he blazed to gold in 15.54 seconds in the men’s 150m.

Williams’ second place performance in the women’s 60m has qualified her for the World Indoor Championship in Turkey in March. She ran a personal best of 7.30 seconds in the race, shaving off 7/100ths of a second from her lifetime best performance. Earlier this month she won gold in the 60m at the Tempre Indoor Meet in Finland.

Evris Huggins, Public Relations Officer for the St. Kitts Nevis Amateur Athletics Association (SKNAAA), extended congratulations to both budding stars.

“On behalf of the SKNAAA Executive Committee, congratulations are in order once again to our athletic ambassadors for their contribution to the development of our sport.”
