Aug. 18 — The OECS Credit Union Summit is to be held in St. Lucia 18-22 August 2010. Approximately 300 delegates are expected to participate in the summit at the St. Lucian By Rex Resorts, in Reduit/Rodney Bay. The theme will be “Cooperating to withstand our present day challenges.” The Summit will address how best the movement can cope with the effects of the global financial crisis; the development of human resources for credit unions; increasing youth participation in credit unions; planning the way forward, and what would be the implications of the OECS Economic Union for the credit union movement. The annual event is held in a different OECS country each year. This would be the second occasion Saint Lucia will be hosting the Summit. Participating countries are Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and Saint Lucia.
