Major Shakeup In SKNAAA Ahead Of Nationals LK Hewlett Story Updated: June 08 th 2015 at 11:41 am
Top executives of the St. Kitts Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA) have threatened to resign from the organization a week ahead of the National Championships. The SKNAAA held its Annual General Meeting on Saturday (May 6) where the majority of the member clubs presented the executive, led by President Glen Jeffers, with a resolution. The document, signed by six of the nine clubs, calls on the executive to indicate its plan of action to get the track and field organization out from under mounting debt. The debt figure, The Observer understands, is quite significant, most of it a result of the hosting of the 44 th Annual CARIFTA Games in April. There were also some other pending financial issues that the clubs asked to be updated on. The Observer understands that while the SKNAAA president and others have threatened to resign, only one person has actually tendered his resignation. The upheaval comes ahead of one of the SKNAAA’s biggest events on the track and field calendar, the June 13-14 National Championships.
