Mr. Samuel Weymouth Tapley Seaton Sworn In As Acting Governor General Press Release Story Updated: May 20 th 2015 at 12:00 pm
In a brief ceremony this morning at the Cabinet Room, Government Headquarters, Mr. Samuel Weymouth Tapley Seaton was sworn in as Acting Governor General of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Mr. Seaton was administered the oath of allegiance and oath of office by Her Ladyship the Hon. Justice Marlene Carter, High Court Judge of the St. Kitts circuit, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, Attorney General Vincent Byron and other Cabinet colleagues. Prime Minister Harris, on behalf of the Cabinet, congratulated His Excellency Tapley Seaton on his new appointment to the highest office in the country. He wished His Excellency well and expressed every confidence that he will perform in accordance with the high expectations that every citizen has of the holder of the Office of Governor General. The Acting Governor General thanked everyone for their very good wishes and Her Ladyship Justice Carter for administering the oaths. He pledged to uphold the high standards, as is expected of the holder of the Office of Governor General.
