June 19 – St. Kitts and Nevis has established diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at ambassadorial level with the joint signing of a communiqué on Wednesday, June 16 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. St. Kitts and Nevis’ Permanent Representative at the United Nations, His Excellency Ambassador Delano Bart, Q.C. and UAE’s permanent representative to the UN, His Excellency Ahmed Al-Jarman signed the document. In part, the communiqué stated that the governments of the UAE and St. Kitts and Nevis will promote cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, social, humanitarian, cultural and scientific areas based on the principles of the UN Charter of International Law.
