BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — Twenty-three-year-old Ackeem Connor of St. Paul’s was sentenced to serve time in prison for the offence of Robbery at a High Court hearing on Nov. 16.

Connor was indicted on March 24, 2017 for the offence. He was found guilty on Oct. 9. The prescribed penalty for the offence of Robbery is 20 years with or without hard labour.

His Lordship intended a sentence of seven years, but in considering aggravating and mitigating factors, the fact that the prisoner has no previous convictions, and the time spent in pre-sentence custody – one year, five months and eighteen 18 days – Connor was sentenced to five years, two months and 10 days in prison.
