Jelani Liburd shot on Jan. 1 died in hospital.

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis — Twenty-two days after 28-year-old Jelani Liburd of Craddock Road was shot, he has succumbed to his injuries.

The Observer confirmed that Liburd passed sometime after midday on Tuesday. His death marks the first homicide in the Federation in four months.

On Jan. 1, 22-year-old Keon Moore of Bath Plain and Liburd were attacked by unknown assailants while in a motor car. They both sustained gunshot injuries about their bodies and were transported to the Alexandra Hospital.
