POND HILL, Nevis — As of 5 p.m. today Tropical Depression 9 has been upgraded by the US National Hurricane Centre to Tropical Storm Isaac.

“St. Kitts and Nevis are on the edge of the five-day cone of uncertainty,” said Frank Goodwill at the Pond Hill, Nevis Weather Station. “Things can change in five to six days — both for the better and for the worse.

“The forecast central path takes it over Dominica as a hurricane,” said Goodwill. “Not a good thing for them as they have been trying to recover from last year’s events.”
