The police are currently on the search for a person or persons who shot and burnt the body of Guyanese national Marlon James, discovered on March 31 in some bushes in Hamilton Village.
According to a police statement “the body has since been identified as 27-year-old Marlon James, a national of Guyana who resided in Brown Hill. There were signs of violence and multiple gunshots wounds about the body. The District Medical Doctor arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead”.
Forensic Pathologist Dr. Valery Alexandrov determined that his death was caused by a gunshot wound and noted that ninety percent of his body was burnt.
James, who was employed for Nevis Spring Waters, was known in his community as a quite, humble and an easy to get along with young man.
James’ death marks Nevis’ third homicide for 2018 and the tenth for the Federation. Cleon Browne of Rawlins Village and Dawn Thompson of Hanley’s Road of Nevis both fell victims earlier this year.
