BASSETERRE, St. Kitts –- Three Hundred nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis turned out to celebrate St. Kitts and Nevis’ 35th Anniversary of Independence with the Prime Minister on Sept. 27. A grand cocktail reception and dance took place at Eastwood Manor in the Bronx, New York.

The event was graced with the presence of the Honourable Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, M.P., J.P.; the Honourable Mark Brantley; Ambassador Penelope Beckles, Permanent Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago; while Permanent Representative to the United Nations, H. E. Sam Condor chaired the event. Prime Minister Harris and Premier Brantley brought brief remarks to the enthusiastic gathering.

Scores of nationals also came on Sept. 28 to witness Prime Minister Harris deliver his statement to the General Assembly. It was Dr. Harris’ third address to the General Assembly as Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Tomorrow, Prime Minister Harris will attend a Thanksgiving Service at Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church in the Bronx, New York. The service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
