BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — Below are reports of arrests, convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period Sept. 4 to 14 and Sept. 15 to 21.

ARRESTS AND BAIL:

Arrested: Justin Leonard of St. Peters was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery.

Arrested: Austin Emmanuel Huggins of New Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery and Threatening Language.

Arrested: Yanick Harris of Stapleton Housing Development was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Battery and Resisting Arrest.

Arrested: Omari Tota of George Street, Newtown was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Wounding With Intent.

Arrested/Bailed: Leroy Walters of Bird Rock was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court.

Arrested/Bailed: Lancelot Niel who resides at Hamilton, Nevis was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s Licence. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Oct. 4.

Arrested/Bailed: Trevor Mason of Saddlers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Sept. 24.

Arrested/Bailed: Andrew Thompson of Earle Mourne was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on the Sept. 24.

Arrested/Bailed: Justice Thomas of Taylor’s Housing was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Oct. 4.

Arrested/Bailed: Winston ‘Zaba’ Sprouse of Rosemary Lane/McKnight was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Posting Placards Without Consent. The offences were committed on the morning of Sept. 04. in Basseterre. The prisoner allegedly posted a number of Placards depicting three Police Officers with words that were menacing in character on lampposts around Basseterre. The photos were posted without the consent of the owner of the lampposts. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Sept. 10.

Arrested/Bailed: Hitesh Tarachand Chandwani who resides at Sun Crest, Bird Road, was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance. He was granted bail in the sum of $1,500 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Oct. 18.

Bailed: Rodney Baptise of Walwyn Avenue, Buckley’s Estate, who was charged for the offence of Disorderly Conduct by Making Noise, was granted bailed in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Oct. 25.

Bailed: Calvin Hicks of Democrat Street, Buckley’s Site, who was charged for the offence of Larceny, was granted bailed in the sum of $10,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Oct. 12. with the following bail conditions: (1) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.; and (2) he is to adhere to a geographical curfew and should not be found in the Frigate Bay, Half Moon, Potato Bay or South East Peninsula areas or bail would be revoked.

Bailed: Marseeka Bartlette of Thibou Avenue, who was charged for the offences of Assault, Battery and Throwing Missiles, was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Nov. 5.

Bailed: Lorin Bartlette of Cole Hill, who was charged for Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, was granted bail in the sum of $80,000 with the following conditions: (1) the applicant is to surrender all travel documents to the registrar of the High Court; (2) the applicant is to visit the Gingerland Police Station three times per week between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and (3) the applicant is to be placed under curfew between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. at his place of residence.

Bailed: Jervis Liburd of Pond Hill, who was charged for Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, was granted bail in the sum of $80,000 with the following conditions: (1) the applicant is to surrender all travel documents to the registrar of the High Court; (2) the applicant is to visit the Gingerland Police Station three times per week between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and (3) the applicant is to be placed under curfew between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. at his place of residence.

Bailed: Alexis Decosta of Sandy Point, who charged for Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s Licence, was granted bail in the like sum of $3,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Oct. 1.

COURT CONVICTIONS:

In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, Presided over Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hill-Hector, the following was reported:

– In the matter involving Abkim Bryan, alias Esco, of Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point, who was charged for Attempted Murder and Robbery on 4/1/17, Her Honour was not satisfied that the witnesses properly identified the accused and, as a result, she ruled that a Prima Facie case was not made out and it was discharged.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

Abandoned Properties: Police continued to execute searches on abandoned properties and empty lots. Most recently, searches were done in the following areas: Prickley Pear Alley, West Bourne Ghaut, Sandy Point, Lodge Project, Keys and Saddlers.

Sept. 15 to 21 Report

ARRESTS AND BAIL:

Arrested: Danza Bolus of Old Road was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for offences of Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle and Driving Without Insurance.

Arrested: Stevenson Duperval of Taylor’s Range was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Driving Without Insurance.

Arrested: Cykes Esdaille of Newton Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Nov. 5.

Arrested/Bailed: Sheldon Shield of Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Being Armed with an Offensive Weapon to wit a Machete. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Police Station on Oct. 12. The bail conditions are as follows: (1) he is to report to the Sandy Point Police Station every Monday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.; (2) he is to have no contact with the Virtual Complainant; and (3) he is to stay at least 100 feet away from the Virtual Complainant.

Arrested/Bailed: Clayton Skeete of Phillips’ Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Driving Without Insurance, Driving an Unlicensed Vehicle and Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License. He was granted bail in the sum of $500 and is to appear at the District “B” Magistrate Court on Oct. 1.

Arrested/Bailed: Ryon Powell of Dieppe Bay was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Giving a False Name. He was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Nov. 5.

Arrested: Omari Tota of Newtown, who was charged for the offence of Inflicting Grievous Body Harm, was granted bailed in the sum of $25,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Oct. 01. with the following bail conditions: (1) he is to have no contact, either directly or indirectly, with the Virtual Complainant; (2) he should not come within 20 feet of the Virtual Complainant; and (3) he is to report to the Basseterre Police Station every Saturday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

COURT CONVICTION:

In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, presided over by His Honour Mr. Reynold Benjamin, the following was reported:

– Dexter Huggins alas “Muffin” of Buckley’s Estate, who was charged for the offence of Larceny, was sentenced to three months in prison.

In matters at the Court of Appeal the following was reported:

– Dinzey Ryan of Old Road, had his appeal against his sentence upheld by the Court. Ryan was charged with murder and was sentenced to life in prison. The Justices of Appeal reduced his sentence to 25 years. Ryan has already served 17 years, which is equivalent to a 25-year sentence. He was therefore ordered discharged.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

Search Warrants Executed: Police executed several search warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: West Bourne Ghaut, Conaree, Lodge Project, Upper Shaw Avenue, New Road, Stone Fort, Sandy Point, St Paul’s and Old Road.
