Charlestown High Holds Graduation Ceremony

Charlestown Secondary School and Sixth Form College held their annual graduation and prize giving ceremony last Wednesday Nov.9.

The Valedictory Speech was tripartite. Rhenese Herbert received the best CAPE certificate along with distinctions in Economics, Management of Business and Accounting. She walked away with the Millicent Byron Award, the Nevis Youth Council Award, the Panell Kerr Foster Award, the TDC Award for best Business student, the Bank of Nevis Award, the Ashley Farrell Award and the Principal’s Medallion Award for best CAPE student along with the State Scholarship for 2005. She is the first Nevisian to attain this scholarship in 19 years. She now attends the St. Leo University in Tampa Florida.

Marcy Jagdeo was the valedictorian for the form five students. She received distinctions in English A, English B, Office Procedures, Spanish, Principles of Accounts, Typing, Social Studies, Integrated Science and French. For her hard work she was awarded the Millicent Byron Award, the Nevis Youth Council Award, the Sonita Daniel-Barrett Award, the Bank of Nevis Award, the Ashley Farrell Award and the Principal’s Medallion Award for best CSEC student.

Stephan Smithen was the top NCEC student in the federation and was awarded the Principal’s Medallion Award for his efforts.

In the June 2006 CAPE examinations the sixth form graduates passed between two and six subjects while the CSEC students passed between one and 11 subjects.
