Shots rang out on Jessups Beach Monday afternoon and when the smoke cleared Stoney Grove resident Gary (fish) Claxton was dead.
Arriving on the scene, The Observer noted a number a police cars and police and army men. The Observer was informed that the shooting took place around 2:30 p.m. and Claxton was dead on arrival at the hospital. His body was carried away before The Observer arrived. Claxton was allegedly waiting for the return of a fishing boatthat went conch diving. It is further alleged that the suspect came from some back bushes and launched an attack.The Four Season’s Mangoes Restaurant was open at the time.
One person, who was nearby, said that he heard three shots which where spaced out and not all together. Only hours before, St. Kitts recored its 20th murder for the twin island when a young man was gunned down.
