Past Four Seasons employees packed the Red Cross Building in Charlestown, Nevis on Thursday evening to ask, “when will we get our money?”
A previous owner of the Four Seasons reportedly paid current employees $10,000 to $30,000 during the past two weeks as part of their pension/retirement package.
Michelle Hill was selected to chair a five-member committee formed during the meeting. Other committee members are Jose Green, Victor Pemberton, Jean Caines and Orville Daniel.
Speaking with the Observer after the meeting, Chairperson Hill said, “The level of uncertainty in relation to the pension scheme for past Four Seasons hotel employees” triggered the meeting.
She said the committee’s goal is to bring a “speedy” resolution to on-going concerns and to “Establish some level of certainty as to when, how and by whom payment will be made from the Retirement Pension Plan Contribution to past employees.”
Hill said the next meeting will be next Tuesday July 5 at the Red Cross Building in Charlestown at 5 p.m.
