On Feb. 8, Dean Boddie of Tabernacle was arrested and charged for the offence of House Breaking and Larceny, committed on Feb. 6.

Clefton Phillip of the Alley, Sandy Point, was arrested and charged on Feb. 8 for the offence of carrying abroad an offensive weapon.

Fitzroy Wilkinson of Cotton Ground, Nevis, was arrested and charged on Feb. 8 for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply.

Mervin Parris of Cotton Ground, Nevis, was also arrested and charged on Feb. 8 for the offence of Possession of Cannabis.

On Feb. 9 , Kezel Phipps of Fort Thomas Road was arrested and charged for the offence of Driving a Motorcycle without insurance.

Trevor Richardson of Cunningham was arrested and charged on Feb. 9for the offence of House Breaking and Larceny.

Cassa Samuel of Victoria Road was arrested and charged on Feb. 9 for the offence of Indecent assault committed on Dec. 21, 2007.

Gavin Browne of St. Pauls Village was arrested and charged on Feb. 9for the offence of Unlawful Possession of two Cameras, committed on Feb. 8.

On Sunday 10th February 2008, Eli Freeman was arrested and charged for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, committed on 10th February 2008.

Jemmin Williams of Bourke’s project, Sandy Point, was arrested and charged on Sunday 10th February 2008 for the offence of riding a pedal Bicycle without a white light at the front, committed on 7th February 2008.

On Monday 11th February 2008 Glenville Maynard of Keys Village was arrested and charged for the offence of Driving when not covered by insurance.

Neil Duporte of Rawlins Village, Nevis, was arrested and charged on Monday 11th February 2008 for the offences unlawful sexual intercourse and Buggery, committed on 7th February 2008.

On Monday 11th February 2008 police on Nevis while conducting routine stop and search operations in the Cotton Ground area, stopped and searched Leslie Jeffers of Cayon for controlled drugs, arms and ammunition and discovered a quantity of marijuana in his possession. As a result of the find, he along with the drugs were taken into police custody. Jeffers was subsequently charged with the offence of Possession of Cannabis.

COURT CONVICTIONS

On Friday 9th February 2008 Valentine Graham of Cardin Avenue who was charged with the offence of Possession of Cannabis, was convicted and fined $1000.00 ECC forthwith or serve one month in prison. The offence was committed on 13th November 2007.

On Monday 11th February 2008, Desi Williams of The Alley, Sandy Point, who was charged with the offence of Carrying abroad an offensive weapon, was convicted and fined $600.00 ECC to be paid in one month or serve one month in prison.

Ronald Pogson, who was charged with the offence of Battery on 20th March 2007, was convicted and ordered to pay a total of $1000.00 in compensation to the aggrieved. The fees are to be paid in one month or serve three months in prison.

Rudolph Carty of Prickley Pear Alley was charged with the offence of Unlawful Possession of Mangoes on 11th February 2008. He was convicted and fined $500.00 ECC forthwith on Monday 11th February 2008 or serve fourteen days in prison.

Anthony Saunders of Cunningham Village, Cayon, who was charged with the offences of Battery on a Police Officer and Resisting arrest, was convicted for both offences. Saunders was cautioned for the offence of Battery on a Police Officer and sentenced to three months in prison for the offence of resisting arrest.

TRAFFIC CONVICTIONS

On Thursday 7th February 2007, the following persons appeared before the district A Magistrate Court and convicted and sentenced as follows, for various traffic offences:

Antonio Bradshaw of Parsons Village, who was charged with the offence of Driving without due care and attention, was convicted and fined $700.00 to be paid in one month or serve 14 days in prison.

Michael Phillip of Molyneaux was convicted for the offence of Driving without due care and attention. He was ordered to pay $400.00 in one month or serve 14 days in prison.

James Walwyn of Cayon was convicted for the offence of Driving without due care attention. He was ordered to pay $200.00 in three weeks or serve one month in prison.

Arthur Martin of Ponds Extension, who was charged with the offence of Driving without due care and attention, was convicted and fined $300.00 to be paid in three weeks or serve one week in prison.

Desmond Hazel of Lime Kiln was convicted and fined $200.00 to be paid in two weeks or serve one week in prison for the offence of Driving without care and attention.

Jonathan Gonzalez of Camps was convicted and fined $300.00 to be paid in three weeks or serve one week for the offence of Driving without due care and attention.

Michael Lawrence of Upper Market Street, who was charged with the offences of Reckless driving and exceeding the speed limit, was convicted and fined $1300.00 for both offences. The fines are to be paid in two months or he will serve one month in prison.

Wayne Grant of Challengers was convicted and fined $700.00 to be paid in one month or serve one month in prison for the offence of permitting another to use a motor vehicle without insurance.

Ricky Mardenborough of Half Tree, who was charged with the offences of Driving without insurance and Driving without a valid driver’s license was convicted for both offences. For the offence of Driving without insurance, he was fined $700 to be paid in two months or serve one month in prison. He was also disqualified from obtaining a driver’s license for three months. For the offence of Driving without a valid driver’s license, he was fined $100.00 to be paid in two months or he will serve one month in prison.

Desmond Herbert Sr. of Bird Rock was convicted for the offence of driving an unlicensed vehicle and ordered to pay $200 in one month or serve one week in prison.

Lorna Richardson of Upper Cayon was convicted and fined $300 to be paid in one month or serve one week in prison for the offence of Driving without due care and attention.

On Tuesday 12th February 2008, Nigel King of New Road was arrested for the offence of carrying abroad an offensive weapon.

Neville Fahie of Newton ground Village was arrested and charged on Tuesday 12th February 2008 with the offences of Threatening language, Armed with an offensive and Battery on police. The offences were committed on 12th February 2008.

On Wednesday 13th February 2008, members of the security forces executed search warrants on a number of premises in St. Pauls Village for controlled drugs, arms and ammunition. As a result of the operation, Junior Freeman of Willets Housing Project, St. Pauls, was arrested and charged with the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply, after a quantity of marijuana was found in his room.
