(Basseterre, St. Kitts)- The St .Kitts Nevis Anguilla Trading and Development Co. Ltd (TDC), at their 35th Annual General Meeting held at the Fisherman’s Wharf, Ocean Terrace Inn, Fortlands, Basseterre on Tuesday June 24, recognized employees for their long years of dedicated service to the company.

Scores of family, friends and staff were present to witness the ceremony.

Employees were awarded with service pins for ten, twenty, twenty-five, thirty and thirty-five years of service.

In the 10 year category 14 employees were awarded:

Darlene Sampson (Administration); Alexis Farrell (Airline Services Ltd); Rinaldo Bass, Valden Sutton and Jermaine Wilkin (Automotive Division); Curtis Gumbs (Finco Ltd); Ashton Davis (Home and Building Depot); Laughton Powell (Electrical Services Dept); Shomari Harris-Warner (Internal Audit); Felicitas O’Flaherty (Rentals Ltd); Rubercilla Jeffers (SNIC Ltd); Glenroy Clarke (Drinks Depot, Nevis); Valerie Bowrin (Finco (Nevis) Ltd); Patron Pemberton (Rentals (Nevis) Ltd).

In the 20 year category 14 employees were awarded:

Earle Kelly (TDC Limited); Elcero Morris (Administration); Arleen Bailey and Dale Pemberton-Hicks (City Drug Store (2005) Ltd); Anita Collins, Mary Daniel-Walters, Donnie Rawlins, Akin Warner and Iston Williams (Home and Building Depot); Vincent Gumbs and Emilyn Thomas (Rentals Ltd); Livingstone Liburd (Business Equipment-Nevis); Orville Pogson (Home and Building Depot-Nevis); Collin Freeman (Shipping-Nevis).

In the 25 year category one employee was awarded: Franklin Hobson (Airline Services Ltd).

In the 30 year category one employee was awarded: Charles Wilkin (Kelsick, Wilkin and Ferdinand).

In the 35 year old category four employees were awarded:

Jacques Cramer and Michael Morton (TDC Ltd); Edgar Harrigan (Airlines); Mitchell Gumbs (Real Estate and Project Dev.)

Twenty persons were nominated for employee of the year; seven for the sales award and fifteen for the service award.

Kiwana Olugbala was the winner of employee of the year and Glenford Williams was the runner up. Thyrone Hendrickson won the sales award and McMillan Gumbs was the runner up. Reese Liburd captured the service award with Sylvester Smith being the runner up.

Mr. Dennis Knight, Human Resource Manager at TDC said that the criteria used to choose the awardees were attendance, punctuality, productivity, initiative, job knowledge and skills, inter-personal skills and customer service.

According to Mr. Knight, a voting committee was appointed by The Board of Directors comprising of Management, an employee representative from the St. Kitts and Nevis branches and a representative from the Board of Directors.

All nominees got letters of commendation from the chairman and vouchers. All winners of the awards got winners plaques, cash and vouchers.

The winner of the employee of the year award received $1500, and the winner of the sales award and the service award received $750.00 each.

The Mission Statement of TDC states: “TDC is fully committed to total customer satisfaction; employee excellence through participation and training to provide maximum benefits for shareholders while contributing meaningfully to the economic, social and cultural advancement of our nation”.

The Vision Statement reads: “To be the leading public company in the OECS as measured by customer satisfaction, return on investment, human resources development and good corporate citizenship.”
