Police are investigating a wounding incident that occurred on Monday March 5, 2007 in the Sandy Point area, where 49-year-old Athnel Duncan was attacked and wounded in his neck. He is listed as stable at the J.N.F. General Hospital.
A nineteen-year-old male of Sandy Point is assisting police with their investigations.
Meanwhile, at the Basseterre Magistrate Court several persons were convicted of offences.
Glenville Whyte of Temple Alley was charged with ‘Carrying abroad an offensive weapon’ committed on January 2, 2007. He was convicted and fined EC$500.00 to be paid by April 5, 2007 or in default to serve 2 weeks imprisonment with hard labour.
Valentine Francis of Upper Monkey Hill was charged with ‘Disorderly Conduct by Making Noise’ and ‘Making use of Indecent Language’ committed on January 16, 2007 and was convicted on both charges. He was fined EC$300.00 for each charge to be paid in 1 month or in default, he would serve 1 month imprisonment with hard labour.
At the High Court on Tuesday March 6 2007, Shinnel Bass of St. Peter’s was convicted for ‘Forgery’ committed between August 13, 2001 and March 1 2002, however sentence has been reserved until March 14, 2007.
On the day before, Dujohn Griffin Willett of Salt Pond Alley, Basseterre was charged with ‘Wounding with Intent to do grievous bodily harm’ on a Basseterre resident on December 31, 2006 at Basseterre.
Last week Friday, Ivan Edwards of Stapleton Village, Darren Patrick of Tabernacle Village, Odelma Williams of Tabernacle Village and Jumal Mike of Saddler’s Village were arrested and charged for ‘Carrying Abroad an Offensive Weapon’ which took place at Molyneaux on February 28, 2007.
On Saturday March 3 2007, Beco Lapsey of Fort Street, Basseterre was arrested and charged with ‘Larceny’ committed on February 28, 2007.
On Sunday March 4 2007, Rolston Williams of Ottleys Village was charged with ‘Battery on a police officer’ and ‘Resisting Arrest’ committed on March 2, 2007 at Bakers Corner.
