PM Harris meets with Her Royal Highness Princess Anne

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister the Honourable Dr. Timothy Harris had the honour and privilege of meeting and holding brief discussions with Her Royal Highness Princess Anne Wednesday, April 18.
The prime minister, who is in London for the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), met with Her Royal Highness at Buckingham Palace.
Princess Anne, who is the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, is widely known for her charitable work. The princess is involved in more than 300 charities, organisations and military regiments in the United Kingdom and throughout the Commonwealth of Nations.
During the private meeting, Prime Minister Harris and HRH Princess Anne exchanged views on the growth and development of the Caribbean region, as well as the challenges of small island developing states. Harris also shared some of the good news and developments taking place in St. Kitts and Nevis, such as the federation’s booming tourism industry and the rapid pace it is becoming a world-class destination.
The prime minister extended a personal invitation to Her Royal Highness to visit the beautiful twin-island federation. Princess Anne shared some of her experiences during her past visits to different Caribbean islands.
At the end of their cordial meeting, Her Royal Highness Princess Anne presented the honourable prime minister with one of her very own portraits as a gift.
