At 10 a.m. on May 19, Alvin Woods, a resident of the New Castle area, was injured while trying to dislodge a wire that was caught on a large piece of earth moving equipment that was being moved on a flat loader, according to police. The incident occurred on Pump Road near Craddock Road on Nevis. The wire came loose and knocked Mr. Woods off the truck. Emergency personnel responded to the accident. Mr. Woods was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a broken wrist.

Dawn Norford of Harris Village was on Wednesday 21st May 2008 arrested and charged with the offences of driving without a driver’s license and driving without insurance.
Joseph Gardner of Harris Village was also arrested and charged with the offence of permitting another to drive when not the holder of driver’s permit or license.
MORE DRUGS FOUND
On Wednesday 21st may 2008 police conducted operations in Boyds Village and 455 marijuana plants were found growing on a plot of land close to the Fair View Inn. The plants, which range in height from seedlings to six feet were uprooted and taken into custody. No one was held accountable for the find.
POLICE ACCEPT GIFTS
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force was the recipient of a 100 weapon holsters donated by Mr. Harris Kinsler from The Fox Lake Police Department in Chicago, U.S.A. At a brief handing over ceremony at the Police Headquarters, Superintendent Robert Liburd accepted the gifts and thanked Mr. Kinsler on behalf of The Ministry of National Security and The Police High Command. Mr. Liburd assured the long-serving law enforcement official that the holsters would be put to good use within the organization. Mr. Harris Kinsler who has 35 years of service as a Police Officer, retired as a Commander with the Chicago Housing Police and now works as Head Investigator for the Police and Fire Commissioners at The Fox Lake Police Department. Mr. Kinsler has for the last 16 years being a frequent visitor to the Federation and continues to assist The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force through teaching and training.
