ARRESTS

Sean Brazier of Pitcairn Street, Newtown, was on July 5th 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of house breaking and larceny.

Carlton Williams of Half Way Tree and Jonathan Marsham of Godwin Ghaut were both arrested and charged on separate counts of armed with an offensive weapon on July 5th 2008.

Dennis Maynard of Brick kiln, Nevis, was arrested and charged on 3rd July 2008 with the offence of simple wounding.

Vernon Nias of Canoree Village was on Monday 7th July 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of driving under the influence.

Bernard Patrick of Parsons Village was arrested and charged on Sunday 6th July 2008 with the offences of obstruction, resisting arrest and battery on police.

CONVICTIONS

STORE BREAKING

Police continue to investigate an early morning breaking that occurred on Monday 7th July 2008 at the Courts Furniture and Appliances Showroom on the Bay Road in Basseterre where person or persons stole seven computers (six laptops and a desktop) and three computer monitors from the store after breaking a glass door and gaining entry. No one is in custody at this time but investigation is still ongoing.

ARREST

Terrence Wharton of Upper Fiennes Avenue was on Tuesday 8th July 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of being found in enclosed premises. The offence was committed on 4th July 2008.

COURT CONVICTIONS

Michelle Warner of Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point, who was charged with the offence of driving without insurance appeared before the District ‘B’ Magistrate Court on Tuesday 8th July 2008 and she was convicted and fined $450.00 to be paid in two months or serve one week in prison. In addition, Ms. Warner’s license was suspended for one month.

A 16 years old juvenile from Godwin Ghaut also appeared before the said court to answer the charge of armed with offensive weapon and he was convicted and placed on a bond for a six months period. The juvenile is also ordered to observe a curfew from 6 a.m to 6 p.m daily and is to have regular visits with a probation officer.

Clinton Thomas of Half way Tree also appeared before the court and he too was convicted for the offence of armed with offensive weapon but was reprimanded.
Mona Farrel of Molyneaux appeared before the court to answer the charge of indecent language and she was convicted and placed on a bond for a period of six months. She was also ordered to keep the peace and be of good behavior and is to stay at least 100 feet from the complainant, Mrs. Lawrence, also of Molyneaux. The offence took place at Molyneaux on 2nd June 2008.

Reginald Richards of St. Paul’s Village, who was charged with the offence of driving under the influence of liquor, appeared before the court and he was convicted and fined $1,000.00 to be paid in three months or serve two months in prison. Richards was also convicted for the offence of driving without due care and attention and ordered to pay $700.00 in three months or serve two months in prison.

A 17 year old juvenile also appeared before the District ‘B’ Magistrate Court and was sentenced to six months in prison for the offence of wounding, an offense that was committed on 11th May 2008.

Glenn Pemberton of Main Street, Charlestown, appeared before the District ‘C’ Magistrate Court on Tuesday 8th July 2008 to answer the charge of driving without due care and attention and he was convicted and fined $2,000.00 to be paid in six months or serve one month in prison, an offense he committed on 10th January 2008.

Bath Village resident, Santo Childeron, who was charged with the offence of driving without a valid and unexpired license, appeared before the court and was convictd and fined $500.00 payable in two months or he will serve one month in prison, an offense he committed on 24th February 2008.

Tyrell Walters of Maynard’s Ground who was charged with the offence of throwing missiles also appeared before the court and was convicted and cautioned.

David Grant of Belmont, Nevis, who was charged with the offense of driving without due care and attention, appeared before the said court and he too was convicted and cautioned.

Stoney Grove resident, Boston Browne, appeared before the court to answer the charge of possession of cannabis and was convicted and fined $1,500.00 to be paid in four months or serve three months in prison.
