Hon. Sam Condor, Minister of Education, congratulated the graduating class and gave words of wisdom while doing so.
“You have come to the end of a long road, and you deserve to be congratulated for your efforts. I have heard it said, that ‘it is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end’. Graduation is a time to reflect on all the different paths taken to get you to where you are sitting right now.
“This day means so little without all the wonderful people, events and memories to accompany it and all the friendships and relationships you have built during your sojourn, with other students, faculty and staff. Go now to further prepare yourselves to contribute meaningfully, in diverse ways, to the dynamic process of national development,” the minister said.
Acting principal of CFBC Mrs. Sonia McPhail also took the opportunity to commend all the students who graduated and made special mention of those who topped their various divisions. She also mentioned that the 206 graduates represented a 67 % completion rate which is a significant percentage of the student enrollment of 306.
Professor Frank Mills of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) delivered the featured address wherein he spoke of women and the way they have utilized the opportunities provided and he encouraged them to continue to excel in all their future endeavours.
