(Oualie Beach, Nevis) ” The smell of fresh fish was in the air at Oualie Beach Resort last Saturday afternoon as the 25 participating boats in the Nevis Yacht Club’s 14th Annual Sport Fishing Tournament returned to weigh in their catch. A little rain and some rough seas made this a tournament for the big boys”and girls. “I have fished in worse conditions,” said one returning fisherman. “I don’t mind fishing a tournament when it is like this. It keeps those who are not that serious off the water, then there is more fish for us.” The MV Black Fin will have her name plated to the side of the championship trophy. Captained by Cliven Christmas, the Champion Black Fin hauled in more than 240 pounds of Wahoo. 25 boats and 96 anglers participated in the event with half of them coming from Antigua, St Maarten and Montserrat.
