At least two main acts that will headline the Independence 30th Anniversary super concert will be announced today, Thursday. That came from the Organizing Committee which last week teased the public by saying stay tuned for the announcement of the artistes that will be performing for the concert. A number of popular artistes ranging from US R&B to regional dancehall have been rumored but the Committee members have remained tight-lipped until now. St. Kitts-Nevis celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Independence on September 19th and an entire month of activities is being held under the theme “Stability, Creativity and Prosperity: celebrating Independence 30”. The Committee is also scheduled to announce the events of the National Arts Festival slated for next week. This will include visual arts, music, poetry, and literary and culinary arts. The opening of the Arts Festival will take place next Monday, September 9. The super concert will take place September 18, followed by a celebratory fireworks display.
