Foreign Affairs Minister Rufus Bousquet has been fired from the Sir John Compton-led Cabinet while another senior minister has been transferred from his portfolio, an official has confirmed.
The developments in the near six-month-old administration of the United Workers Party (UWP) came late Tuesday shortly after a Cabinet meeting chaired by acting Prime Minister Stephenson King.
Also affected was National Security Minister Dr. Keith Mondesir who will be assigned to another ministry effective Wednesday, the official source said.
This is the second time that Bousquet has been fired from a Cabinet led by Sir John, having been dismissed from a previous UWP Cabinet in the early 1990s.
