(Zethlands, Nevis) ” Two robberies are believed to be the work of one man who seems to be only interested in cash have occurred in the past few weeks. Laptops and cameras were passed up by the thief. According to one victim, the police said they believe they know who it is and the reason he does not steal property is because he does not want to be caught with the stolen items. One victim was robbed while she and her husband were at home. “”We were robbed by a sneak thief who came into our Zethlands house while we were there,” said Pauline Wylie. “He crept into the bedroom and grabbed my handbag. I saw him and shouted. He then jumped off the balcony onto the grass, a 15 foot drop.” Mrs. Wylie has put up a reward for the return of a diary that was in her purse. “I can’t replace the family info in it and guess I will never see my bag, phone, camera, sunglasses and prescription glasses again.” Tow hours after the robbery, someone tried to make a $100 withdrawal from her account using her bank card. The police can request surveillance tapes from the bank, but as of yet have not gotten around to it, according to Mrs. Wylie. “I called the police immediately and (an officer) responded within 10 minutes,” she said. “He took down the information and said someone would be back. Ten days later, two officers showed up and asked to look around. I though it was a bit odd they waited 10 days, but I know the High Court was in session and they have been busy there.” Another robbery in the Zethlands area occurred within days of the Wylie robbery fitting much of the same mode of operations, except the second victim was not home at the time.
