Dwight Dore, of Butler’s Village — who was involved Sunday in a traffic accident — will have surgery to remove glass from eyes.
More than six inches of rain fell on the island over the weekend, and is the cause of why Dore had the accident.
According to reports Dore, also known as Dada, at 12:35 a.m. Sunday was traveling in the direction of Long Point along Pump Road, when the accident occurred.
He lost control of his vehicle P2327 and slammed into a pole.
Dore and passenger Elvira Hanley were transported to the Alexandra Hospital.
On Monday Dore was released. He traveled to St. Kitts to seek further medical attention. A reliable source indicated that Dore will have surgery to remove glass out of his eye.
Hanley is still hospitalized suffering from injuries to her face that required stitches.
Dore’s vehicle was extensively damaged.
Pieces of the lighting from the top of the pole lay scattered across the entrance into Long Point. By Tuesday afternoon, work was started to repair the lighting pole.
Police has said that they are currently making inquiries into the incident. On Monday they had yet to speak to Dore to attain his side of the story
