(Charlestown, Nevis) – The center of Charlestown buzzes with energy during the day. Vehicles push through, people throng the streets and sidewalks – there is always energy in the air.

But there is a spot of peace in all of it: The new site of Carib Wellness, Dr. Miranda Fellows’ practice, which has relocated to a site behind the FedEx building.

Dr. Fellows offers a wide range of health treatments in her holistic approach to medicine. She was born and raised in Britain. After graduating from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, USA, she spent two years studying chiropractic medicine in Australia and finished her post-graduate work in the United States. Dr. Fellows has been in practice since February, 2005, on Nevis.

Dr. Fellows recently answered some questions about her work:

Q: Why should people come to see you?

A: Our culture has reached the point where we must take a second look at certain established beliefs for the way we are being influenced in regards to our health care and the health care of our children.  The time has come to consider using conservative methods instead of simply following the accepted norm, and time to look at prevention in the terms of nutrition, exercise, detoxification, and chiropractic care…all of which allow the body to heal itself naturally, just like it was designed to do!

Q: What do you like about your work?

A: I am passionate about what I do. Being a Doctor of Chiropractic allows me to serve my community in a unique way.  To be able to provide relief to someone in terrible pain, to be able to help an athlete get “the Gold Medal”, to be able to facilitate the ‘special needs child to be able to experience the world through their senses better, to be able to help the elderly lady recover from a stroke…my work, my vocation in life is full of variety.  And the knowledge that I am able to make a positive difference in the lives of others in so rewarding and satisfying.  I feel honored to be able to serve my community and humbly blessed to be able to pursue my calling in life.

Q: Please tell us about some notable cases:

A: There are so many but probably one of my favorite case histories is of a young lady with hormonal imbalance who could not get pregnant and after chiropractic care and specific clinical nutritional therapy she became pregnant and sustained the pregnancy to term and gave birth to a health baby, both the mother and child are now recipients of chiropractic wellness care.  Another is of a dear lady with a terrible diabetic ulcer on her lower limb, which would not heal for over two years and she was repeatedly hospitalized for it.  As a last resort before amputation she came for care…we used the FDA approved Erchonia Medical laser and we applied it to the lesion along with changing her diet, prescription clinical nutrition and chiropractic care, her leg healed completely and her blood sugar is now normal.  We just praise God because He is the Master Physician and he is still in the Miracle business. After all he created these self-healing bodies; my job is to maximally facilitate this innate healing ability.

Q: What do you hope to do in the future?

A: My mission is to take Wellness to the Caribbean starting with St. Kitts and Nevis.  I want to see a reduction in the Lifestyle Diseases that are afflicting our people.  Caribbean people deserve to be well and to have the best in wellness care without having to fly to the USA or UK.  I believe that through education, Chiropractic Wellness care, and Lifestyle change, hypertension, diabetes, and cancer among other diseases can be prevented.  We are opening our St. Kitts office on Tuesday, April 22, 2008.

Q: Tell us about your staff.

A: I am blessed with a “Dream Team” who work along side me sharing my goals and my mission, and without them it would not be possible to serve our community so effectively.  I have an Office Manager in both islands and three Registered Nurses with years of clinical experience.
