On March 11 Chippie will embark on a campaign designed to bring together the Caribbean territories – Curacao, Bonaire, St. Maarten, St. Martin, Saba, and St. Eustatius, St. Kitts and Nevis — which comprise most of the territories in “Chippieland.”
On this date, on each island simultaneously a treasure hunt will be held where groups of three in a car will need to answer clues and pick up treasures, which will guarantee to occupy them both mentally and physically. One lucky winning group per territory will then proceed to represent their territory during the Chippie Challenge 2006, which will start on March 26, 2006.
From March 26 through to April 8, the physical and mental strength of the teams will be challenged for 2 weeks long. Each winning team, in addition to an entire Challenge package, will receive a camera phone, which they are obliged to use throughout the challenge. The winning teams will travel from Bonaire to Curacao then on to Saba and St. Eustatius, followed by St. Kitts and Nevis with the finale on St. Maarten on both sides of the island. All expenses will be paid and the contestants will be competing for prizes totaling more than US$10,000.
The challenges on each island will result in a winning team and these winners go on to the successive, designated Islands ,eliminating one team at each stage .This will result in 3 teams who will vie for the grand prize on April 7th in St Maarten. Party and prize giving ceremony will be on April 8, 2006.
Because of the level of the Challenge and international coverage, the Challenge will further bring together an entire Caribbean nation. However, the challenge will also bridge the gap between different levels of society, as small businesses in addition to large ones will be involved. The challenge will relate to a vast amount of people; Chippie is able to make their lives happier or more prosperous through effective, reliable and increasingly more affordable communication.
Thanks to extensive media coverage, the Challenge also presents a unique opportunity by creating tremendous goodwill between the islands and UTS as corporate citizen, through the promotion of the eight territories as a tourist destination.
All contestants are required to have a valid drivers license, must be strong swimmers and physically and mentally agile. In addition to this, they must be good team players and bring their sense of humour along; they WILL BE CHALLENGED! The team must be comprised of both genders.
A list of rules will be available with the application forms, which can be picked up at the local Chippie offices as of Thursday, February 23, 2006. The Challenge is open to all Chippie subscribers who will need their service throughout the Treasure Hunt and Challenges.
