(Charlestown, Nevis) – Four Seasons Resort Nevis has announced the resort will be closed until April 30, 2009. No decision has been made on laying off workers, according to a company spokeswoman. “Nothing has been decided yet. Right now, everyone is still working,” said Tara MacIntyre, Four Seasons director of public relations. Four Seasons was damaged by Hurricane Omar, which passed through the Federation on Oct. 15-16. Four Seasons management had hoped to reopen on Jan. 1, 2009. “We are grateful that our staff, visitors and residents of the island remained unharmed during the hurricane,” said Andrew Humphries, Regional Vice President and General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Nevis.” “We look forward to welcoming visitors back to the Resort and the island when Four Seasons Resort Nevis re-opens its doors.” According to Ms. MacIntyre, some of the ex-patriot managers have been transferred to other Four Seasons properties. “I think they”ll be more of that,” Ms. MacIntyre said.
