Friday March 17, Leon Wilkinson, Jervin Benjamin and Paul Sutton were sentenced to four years in prison. They were sentenced after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

According to the facts presented by the prosecution on September 18, 2003 sometime after 2 a.m. the three men were at the Ferry Terminal on the Bay Road along with the deceased Authur Galloway formerly of Molyneaux.

The three men were seen pulling Galloway onto the pier following an incident between him and Wilkinson where he was seen beating Galloway with a belt.

While on the pier the three men then, holding the deceased by his hands and feet threw him over the pier and into the water, where he struggled.

Persons, who were around at the time, rescued him from the water. A doctor saw him shortly thereafter. The doctor pronounced him dead.

The three men were facing charges of murder, but last Wednesday March 15 entered a plea of guilty to manslaughter.

The men did not address the court before being sentenced. However their respective attorney’s made mitigation plea’s on their behalf.
