” (Basseterre, St. Kitts) – Three new Web sites featuring music, video and photography launched on Oct. 28 promise to bring Caribbean culture in general and Kittitian and Nevisian culture in particular closer to the rest of the world. The launching was held at the FND Conference Room by Global Solutions Services. The firm is under the ownership and management of Novella Springette Having lived in New York for several years, she knows how many Kittitians and Nevis long for the music, songs, news and happenings of their homeland, Ms. Springette said. With this in mind, Ms. Springette decided to launch three new Web sites that would provide a quenching of the cultural thirst that many Kittitians and Nevisians have abroad and an opportunity for locals to showcase their talent and creativity to the outside world. The three new websites are: www.musicvybes.com; www.feelthevybes.com; and www.sknphotos.com. The focus of Music Vybes website is to enable Kittitians and Nevisians to market their creativity with respect to their music and songs to the local and global market.” “Our music will never die.” Music has been a great love of mine,” Ms. Springette said. Similar to i Tunes, Music Vybes would provide a market for our local people to upload their music and songs, giving to anybody anywhere in the world access to purchase and listen to this music, Ms. Springette said. “It is all about empowering and providing economic assistance to the artist,” Ms. Springette said. “Every artist that logs in would have an administration panel that would show them how much they have made and how much money is due to them,” Ms. Springette said. “There will be no secret and the money will be paid out at the end of every quarter.” Through the government, she was able to get an incubator suite at the Pond’s Industrial Site where artists can go to have their music, photos and biographies uploaded to the Web site, Ms. Springette said. SKN Photos is a photography Web site where photographers can upload their photos. It has the same concept as the Music Vybes Web site in that persons would be able to buy photos for their personal use as wallpapers and more. Feel the Vybes Web site is a video site that would augment the existing media in St. Kitts by presenting local news and videos of topical presentations and stories of interests. The Financial Director, Vernon Harris, who is also the father of Ms. Springette, said that ‘the business is not a competition with existing businesses but it is an integral part of diversifying the economy; it will create jobs and also earn foreign exchange.” The Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Sam Condor, gave the feature remarks and lauded the new venture. “Without a doubt this new information age has created new opportunities but one needs to understand the role that computers, networks and technology can play in creating vistas of opportunities and more importantly to take advantage of the same,” Mr. Condor said. “Management of Global Solutions Services, as you set out today enhancing this potential to bring new product to the market that would increase consumer’s choice, lower cost and grow the economy, I extend heartfelt and sincere congratulations to you,” he said. “I am mindful that this is not simply a matter of creating a website and also that electronic commerce is not just for big operations; in fact this technology provides exciting possibilities for small businesses like yours to tap into markets all across the globe,” Mr. Condor said. “What is important about your enterprise is that it takes into account the global nature of the internet and targets the needs and desires of Nevisians and Kittitians living beyond the borders of the Federation,” he added. Mr. Condor said that Global Solutions Services can provide an opportunity for many artists, and photographers to market their product globally and gain international recognition. He also said that this enterprise would contribute to the country’s service sector in a meaningful way. Log on”
