This year the Green Valley Festival will feature a Queen of Queen competition and will see seven past contestants vie for the title of Ms. Green Valley 2006.
The seven contestants are Joycelyn Stapleton, sponsored by Elwin & Icylma Fraser; Jonelle O’Loughlin, sponsored by Henry’s Night Spot & Parris Shopping Centre; Jessica Clavier, sponsored by Grant’s Ice-cream Parlour; Janet Johnson, sponsored by Racing and Gaming Services & F.& H Frisco; Jamila Browne, sponsored by British American Insurance CO. Ltd.; Michelle Webbe, sponsored by Woodsrite Enterprises and Shecoma Greene, sponsored by Marilyn Caesar.
The contestants are promising to deliver a show with a difference and are in high spirits as they prepare for the show.
Grand Masters will provide the music and will showcase local artistes such as Lynshell Peets, Ian ‘Patches’ Liburd, Queen Anastasia and reigning Green Valley King The New Kid.
The show will place 8 p.m., June 2, at Maynard’s Park Cayon.
The Green Valley Festival officially opens May 25 and runs to June 05.
Highlights for this year’s activities include a Gospel concert on May 29, banquet and ball on June 1, and Calypso competition on June 3.
This year’s International Night will feature Anthony B out of Jamaica and is slated for June 4.
The venue for most of these activities is Maynard’s Park, Cayon.
