(Charlestown, Nevis) ” Cleve David, 42, of Cotton Ground will be the guest of Her Majesty’s Prison for the next two years after pleading guilty to the charge of house breaking during last month’s session of the High Court. The house breaking charge stemmed from the Feb. 24, 2008 break-in of Steverly Turner’s restaurant. Nothing was stolen during the break-in, but that might be due to the fact he was caught in the act. His defense asked for leniency and laid the cause of the crime as a “foolish mistake.” Justice Ianthea Liegertwood-Octave said his past was littered with a full range of criminality and listed some of his past offenses: larceny, malicious conduct, carrying abroad an offensive weapon, battery, etc. “This is alarming,” she said. “I have to send you to prison” do you agree?” His hesitancy in answering revealed he may not have agreed and she repeated the question. “”I understand,” he answered.
