Michael “Mickey” Davis of McKnight/Saddlers was formally charged for the murder of 85-year-old Elva York, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Forceannounced Friday.
The offence was committed on Monday, June 17 at Upper Bourryeaux Extension. According to police, the body was found after a neighbour of the deceased contacted the Police following failed attempts to contact the elderly woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Forensic Pathologist Dr. Valery Alexandrov performed an autopsy on the body June 23 and concluded that her death was as a result of asphyxia due to manual strangulation, police said.
Davis was charged Oct. 24.
