Inland Revenue Department rebranding to better inform, serve the public

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) is undergoing a rebranding process with the aim of better serving St. Kitts and Nevis nationals.


“Under the leadership of the Government of National Unity, the Inland Revenue Department has recognized the need to enhance the services of the department to make it easier for our customers to interact with us,” Edward Gift, Comptroller of the Inland Revenue Department said on Wednesday’s edition of “Working for You,” the government’s radio and television programme.


He explained the department, “quietly reviewed a lot of its operations and procedures to make them much more customer based and friendly.”


Describing some of the changes, Gift said, “we have revamped a large number of brochures to make them much easier to understand,” adding that many of these brochures have already been published, are available at the department and will soon be placed on the department’s website.


A new radio programme entitled “Inland Revenue Tax Tips” has also been launched on local radio stations. According to Gift, the programme is aimed at ensuring that each national is aware of all of the services offered by the IRD.


Gift said the IRD continues to depend on feedback from public. He noted that the department understands the need to learn how to improve from its customers.
