Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce Aubyn Hill has stressed that Jamaica remains one of the best places in the region to do business.

He highlighted the Government’s outreach to Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), saying over 2,000 MSMEs and 2,100 entrepreneurs have taken part in business roadshows across eight parishes since July. These events bring government agencies directly to businesspeople, giving them access to information and support.

Speaking at the JANAAC Global Accreditation CEO’s Breakfast and Awards in Kingston, Hill pointed to three laboratories receiving international accreditation as a sign of progress. He also urged MSMEs to focus on exports from the start, noting that his Ministry provides guidance on finding markets abroad.

Hill said Jamaica is attracting investors due to strong economic indicators: unemployment at 3.3 per cent, inflation steady at 3.3 per cent, debt-to-GDP reduced to 68.7 per cent from 147 per cent, and 1.4 per cent economic growth in the second quarter of 2025.

He emphasized that unlike many CARICOM and Central American countries, Jamaica has no currency restrictions, making investment easier.

He called on Jamaicans of all backgrounds—farmers, professionals, entrepreneurs, and exporters—to share his confidence in the nation’s economic future.
