Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 25, 2026)
Two St. Kitts and Nevis creatives have carried their work onto the international stage, participating in World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) forums in Manila and Accra that brought together entrepreneurs and creative professionals from across regions.
Sanara Bussue-Ugboh, founder of House of Lyvelle, represented the Federation at the Cross-Regional Forum for Women Creators and Entrepreneurs on Leveraging Their Intellectual Property, held in Manila, Philippines, from September 21–23, 2026.
According to the Intellectual Property Office of St. Kitts and Nevis (IPOSKN), Bussue-Ugboh’s participation followed her involvement in a six-week boot camp for women entrepreneurs in December 2025, jointly organised by WIPO and IPOSKN.
The Manila forum brought together women entrepreneurs from Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean to examine how intellectual property can be used to strengthen and grow their businesses. For Bussue-Ugboh, the opportunity also provided an international platform to showcase House of Lyvelle, her handcrafted luxury handbag brand, through a global business pitch.
The Federation’s creative representation continued in Accra, Ghana, where songwriter and performer Collin Wyatt participated in the Cross-Regional Forum on IP and Music: Afro Caribbean Creative Bridge.
IPOSKN said Wyatt, known for songs including Most High Forever and SK Sweet, attended the forum alongside Registrar Jihan Williams-Knight. They joined musicians, producers, festival organisers and intellectual property professionals from Africa and the Caribbean in exploring opportunities to strengthen connections between the two regions’ creative industries.
Wyatt’s participation extended beyond the forum discussions. He joined eight other artists and engineers from Africa and the Caribbean in a Co-Creator Sound Lab, where the group produced two original songs.
While Bussue-Ugboh used the Manila forum to position her fashion brand before an international audience, Wyatt’s experience in Accra placed St. Kitts and Nevis’ music talent within a collaborative creative environment spanning two regions.
IPOSKN said the engagements reflect WIPO’s efforts to strengthen cross-regional connections through intellectual property, while also highlighting the local office’s work to provide training, support and networking opportunities for creators and innovators.
For St. Kitts and Nevis, the participation of Bussue-Ugboh and Wyatt offered two distinct examples of how local creative talent can connect with international networks, gain new exposure and explore opportunities beyond the domestic market.
IPOSKN said it will share footage of Bussue-Ugboh’s global business pitch and Wyatt’s creative collaboration, along with information on upcoming training and networking opportunities for creators and innovators.
