Mexico, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has assured his people to bring the pandemic under control thanks to the mitigation actions and their compliance by the majority of the population.

In a message to the nation this Sunday from his confinement in the National Palace, the president pointed out that an overflow of the disease and overcrowding hospitals were prevented.

The video, broadcasted on social networks, highlights the role of doctors and nurses to fight against the effects of this pandemic. ‘We are doing well because the epidemic has been tamed and flattened instead of growing as it has unfortunately happened in other countries,’ he said.

In Mexico, growth has been flattened, this allowed us to be very well prepared to possess everything that is required of medical equipment and specialists. A fraternal solidarity hug to the nurses, who are our heroines, to the doctors who are our heroes.’

He announced that the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development will announce some actions aimed at reviving the economy by introducing drainage, paving, water, and urban development works in general in 50 municipalities.

The president explained that those who will benefit under the criteria of social needs but also of the impact that the coronavirus epidemic has on the population have already been selected.

The aim is to reactivate the construction industry which, by itself, has a multiplier effect in other areas, generating more jobs.

Meanwhile, Lopez Obrador announced a new aid scheme for housing expansion aimed at popular neighborhoods through resources that will be delivered to them.

He reiterated that the priority is to support the poor. By doing so, we all feel spiritually well.
